You do not need an advance reservation for general park entry. You pay the $30 per vehicle fee at the entrance station. Guided tours require advance booking.
Self-guided audio apps cost around $17 per vehicle. Full-day guided van tours from Hilo or Kona range from $150 to over $250 per person.
It depends on the operator. Many full-day guided tours include the park fee. Self-guided apps and some specialty tours do not. Read the inclusions carefully.
